SASSMM offers a 24-hour, confidential, toll-free hotline for anyone impacted by issues of sexual violence, no matter when it occurred. The hotline is staffed by trained volunteers who are there to listen, give support, and offer helpful, practical information whenever possible. Hospital/Legal System advocacy
SASSMM's volunteer advocates also offer support for survivors of sexual assault through medical exams and the legal system. Survivors can choose to have the advocate present at the hospital, at the police department, and in the courts if the case goes to trial. The Machigonne Project
The Machigonne Project is a partnership between SASSMM and Pine Tree Legal. The Machigonne Project now offers legal assistance in Family Law, Housing, Education, Benefits, Employment and other civil legal issues. Resource/Information referral
SASSMM assists individuals in accessing community resources and information. This may include providing therapy options and referrals to appropriate agencies in the community. Support groups
Support groups are offered through SASSMM for survivors in the process of recovery. The purpose of support groups is to promote awareness and provide a forum for education and peer support to survivors of sexual violence. Through the sharing of individual stories, discussion of information about sexual assault, and the exchange of resources and referrals, we seek to diminish survivors' isolation and enhance self-determination. Groups run between 8 to 12 weeks, free of charge. Support Groups Offered - Non Offending Parents of Sexually Abused Children
