"Children should be FREE!" by Sue & Co. Where do the children go...when they cannot sleep at night? Where do the children go...when they think they'll die of fright? Where do the children go...when they're tired and cannot sleep? Where do the children go...when they're told they mustn't weep? Where do the children go...to be safe all through the night? Where do the children go...to be alive by morning light? Where do the children go...why must they always leave? Why can't they be left alone...to just be children, happy and free. Why do they have to do the tasks...demanded of those behind the masks? Why do they carry the shame and the guilt...causing the spirit within to wilt? Why are they left to lie and hide...carrying all the pain inside? What a better place the world would be...if all the children could be free! Free to laugh...free to sing...hopeful sounds...like that of spring! Free to run...free to play...happy to be alive-another day! Free to explore without the fear...of losing those things that to children are dear. Free to be in the body that's theirs...learning to love it...learning to care! Free to reach out when they are sad...knowing it's OK...that they're nor bad! Is it jus too much to ask...to let then be children...free at last? |
