K-2 Sharing Space
A continuation from the K-2 Personal Bubbles lesson using hula hoops to practice personal space. 

Main concepts covered:
  • ​What a personal bubble is.
  • When a person might want to share space.
  • How can people share space.
  • When and how we can ask for help from grown-ups for our bodies.
  • Examples of personal space words.
  • Practice using personal space words and responding to others using their personal space words.

Understanding that pranks and jokes can cross people's boundaries.

  • Respecting boundaries by asking for consent.

  • Examples of both pranks and jokes and their impact.
  • What to do when we're unsure how a joke or prank made someone feel.
  • What could happen when someone didn't like the joke or prank.
  • How to have good fun with other people.

6-8 Boundaries & Consent
Have your middle schoolers received any body safety lessons yet? If not, this is the best one to start with.

Main concepts covered:
  • Defining boundaries.
  • Thinking about what boundaries we might have.
  • Understanding that boundaries depend on our mood, the person, or the situation, and that they like to change.
  • We can respect boundaries and bodily autonomy by practicing consent.
  • Defining consent.
  • Connecting consent to FRIES.
  • Exploring situations where consent is not always clear.
  • Talking about options one has when people cross our boundaries.

Office Drop-ins

​Please call the State-wide Sexual Assault Helpline to set up a time with an advocate to meet with you in person at one of our offices. Our advocates are not available to the public in SASSMM/CAC office spaces 24/7. We require an advanced notice to ensure that an advocate can be available and present to meet with you to help address your needs.
