Welcome! This padlet hopes to live as an interactive, growing library of thoughts, information, and experiences around preventing sexual harm and building communities with healthy sexuality.

What's a Padlet?
Padlet describes itself as a visual collaboration tool. It's an online bulletin board! You don't need to sign up. It's free. You can be anonymous, you can share links, other resources, or your own thoughts.

Guidelines to participate*

This is an anti-violence resource. We do not tolerate victim-blaming or shaming, racism, sexism, ableism, classism, ageism, misogyny, or any language that causes harm to another.
Practice privacy. Please be careful of yours and others privacy. Keep names, dates, locations and other identifying information out of what you share. If there is something you wish to disclose, please call our helpline at 1-800-871-7741 (it's free and confidential!).
Agree and disagree respectfully with other contributors. Please refrain from defamatory language, name-calling, insults, and slurs.
Approach with curiosity, not judgement. Online communication can be tricky. It's important that we ask questions to help broaden our understanding of one another.
Conversations should have mutual consent. Whatever topic is being discussed should have the consent of everyone involved.
Take care of yourself. Take breaks, leave the space, and ask for help if you want it.
*SASSMM monitors this chat forum. We reserve the right to delete any content that is against these guidelines we've outlined. We also are prepared to modify these guidelines as we see fit. We will do our best to check the forum regularly, but please reach out to [email protected] if you see anything that maybe we might've missed.

What are our goals?

Connect with each other directly, and to be an active member of our Midcoast Maine community.
Learn from each other's experiences and ideas.
Build a growing resource of knowledge and language to return to when advocating, thinking, and/or teaching.
Maintain a setting where people feel comfortable asking questions and thinking through new concepts.

Nondiscrimination Policy

Sexual Assault Support Services of Midcoast Maine does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, religion, sex/gender, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation and all other characteristics and status in any group protected by city, state and federal laws. This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment and to the provision of any services offered or provided by the agency.

Office Drop-ins

Please call the State-wide Sexual Assault Helpline to set up a time with an advocate to meet with you in person at one of our offices. Our advocates are not available to the public in SASSMM/CAC office spaces 24/7. We require an advanced notice to ensure that an advocate can be available and present to meet with you to help address your needs.
