Silent Auction FAQsQ: What does “bid increment” mean?
A: This is the amount by which the current high bid is raised each time someone places a higher bid. For example, if an item has a current bid of $20 and the bid increment is listed as $5, the next bid has to be at least $25. Q: What is the service fee attached to the purchase of the Gala ticket? A: The service fee covers the additional charges for submitting an online payment. The final price listed includes the fee of 5.9% plus $0.30 for the cost of each ticket. These are the fees SASSMM is charged by our payment processor and website host. Q: What happens if there are duplicate bids received on an item? A: In the case of duplicate bids, the first bid submitted to SASSMM will be accepted. We will email the bid that was not accepted to let you know. Q: What happens at the close of the online bidding? A: Online bidding will close a few days prior to the event. An email will go out to the highest bidders of each item to let them know and to ask if there is a maximum bid that they would be willing to go up to at the event, in the case of them being outbid. |

Q: Do you have to attend the event in order to be the final winner of an auction item?
A: While we welcome all of our bidders to attend the event, it is not necessary to be there in order to win an auction item. However, bidding will continue to be open during the fundraising event so there is a chance that you will be outbid. If that is the case, we are happy to have our staff continue to bid on your behalf, up to the maximum amount that you provide us.
Q: If I am the final winner of an auction item, how will I pay?
A: If you attend our fundraising event, you are welcome to pay with a check, cash, or credit card. If you are not there in person and win an item, our staff will send you a Square invoice where you can pay with a credit card or you are welcome to pay with cash or check.
