Defining and exploring relationships and how our boundaries change depending on our relationships with others.

  • Defining relationships.
  • Understanding relationships to others versus relationship to self.
  • Personal boundaries review. 
  • Defining boundary crossing.
  • The difference between a stranger crossing our boundaries versus someone close to us.
  • Why it can be difficult talking about boundary crossing.
  • The importance of feeling safe and comfortable in relationships.
  • Exploring what we can do to help others feel safe and comfortable in relationships.
  • Options that we can do when someone is treating us in a way we don't like.
  • Building a safety network.

6-8 Your Rights in Relationships
Thinking about being treated fairly in relationships by practicing consent and discussing when consent is challenging in a relationship due to power imbalances. 

Main concepts covered:
  • Defining relationships.
  • Characteristics that make a connection stronger or weaker.
  • Writing down how we want to be treated in our familial, friendly, or romantic relationships.
  • Writing down our responsibilities in our relationships.
  • Importance of consent in respecting our rights in relationships.
  • Impact of power imbalances when it comes to consent and relationships.

Office Drop-ins

​Please call the State-wide Sexual Assault Helpline to set up a time with an advocate to meet with you in person at one of our offices. Our advocates are not available to the public in SASSMM/CAC office spaces 24/7. We require an advanced notice to ensure that an advocate can be available and present to meet with you to help address your needs.
