Support Groups

Support Groups

Exit Now
We believe that support groups create a safe place for people to learn and heal together. Our goal is to provide a space of connection and support for survivors, parents, caregivers, partners, and others who are impacted by sexual violence.

We offer both online and in-person support groups periodically. All of our groups are free for participants. Our advocates will help to facilitate discussions on trauma, shared and individual experiences, resources, and more.

HelpRoom Online Support Group
We've partnered with RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) to offer online groups!

HelpRoom is a free, private space for people impacted by sexual violence to connect with one another virtually. Our trained advocates help facilitate these anonymous discussions to make sure the HelpRoom is a safe and supportive place for everyone.

Check out our HelpRoom schedule to see what groups we're offering now. No sign up necessary! To join a session, simply visit the SASSMM HelpRoom and click to enter the chat.** You can participate in as many or as few sessions and groups as you want to. Please note that all the times listed below are Eastern Standard Time (EST).

Interested in joining one of our online support groups? Check out our HelpRoom schedule to see what's being offered right now!

Non-Offending Caregiver Support Group
We are starting a non-offending caregiver support group this February! This group is for parents and caregivers of children who have experienced sexual abuse. We'll be meeting on Wednesday evenings from 7 - 8:30 PM EST on Zoom. Please fill out our support group interest form for more information. Once we receive your entry, one of the support group facilitators will reach out to set up a meeting via phone or Zoom. We look forward to hearing from you!

*Please note that SASSMM advocates are mandated reporters. This means if we hear or suspect that a minor or dependent adult is being abused, we have to let other people know to keep them safe. The support group facilitators will talk more in depth about this during the meeting. You have a choice about what information you share with us.

Interested in joining one of our peer support groups? Fill out our Support Group Interest Form and an advocate will contact you when a group is available!

Is there a specific topic we haven't offered that you'd like us to cover? Let us know by filling out our anonymous Group Recommendation Form.
