School-based professionals working in Waldo, Knox, Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties, as well as Brunswick, Harpswell, and the surrounding islands. We encourage principals, assistant principals, school counselors, school social workers or psychologists, school nurses, student support specialists, health teachers, and special education teachers to attend.

When and where will this event take place?
Over Zoom from 9am - 2pm on April 14th, 2022. There will be a 15-minute break mid-morning and a 45-minute break for lunch, for a total training time of 4 hours.

What information will be covered?
Participants will receive a foundation in the dynamics of child sexual abuse, sexual development in children, how to respond to disclosures and sexualized behaviors, when to make mandated reports, and how the statewide response system works. This 4-hour training of trainers equips participants to provide the 1-hour mandated training in Child Abuse Awareness & Response to staff and volunteers at their school.
